Boleh jadi karena masa garansi resmi 3 tahun sudah berlalu, sehingga kantor-kantor meremajakan laptop karyawan mereka. Laptop tipis yang tergolong Ultrabook premium itu, kini dapat kita miliki dengan modal Rp5-7 jutaan saja. Yang Saya Tau dari Lenovo ThinkPad T470s Lenovo ThinkPad T470s merupakan penerus Lenovo ThinkPad T460s. Keluaran tahun 2018. Tidak terlihat perubahan signifikan dari pendahulunya tadi. Bodi tetap sama, port serupa, docking legendaris masih di bawah juga. Kecuali 1 peningkatan besar USB type-C Thunderbolt 3. Dia tipis tapi lengkap banget port-nya kang! Peningkatan lain ada pada CPU. Yang sebagian telah menggunakan Intel generasi ke-7, atau Kaby Lake series. Pilihan dari Intel Core i5-7200U, hingga Intel Core i7-7600U. Sebagian lagi masih menggunakan Intel generasi ke-6, Si Skylake yang sangat efisien itu. Sisi pemrosesan grafis tidak ada peningkatan berarti, masih menggunakan Intel HD 520/ 620 yang merupakan bawaan Intel Skylake atau Kaby Lake tadi. Tidak ada pilihan Dual GPU seperti pada ThinkPad T470 tanpa s. Untuk display-nya sendiri minimal sudah Full HD IPS 1920×1080. Ada pilihan Full HD Touchscreen dan WQHD tanpa touchscreen 2560×1440 untuk varian tertinggi. Tidak ada pilihan display HD super hemat yang bikin sedih seperti pada ThinkPad T470. Sedangkan baterainya, T470s adalah laptop seri s terakhir yang masih memiliki baterai ganda 3 23Wh + 3 26Wh sel. Halo Kang, balik lagi bersama dikisepterian 🙂 Kenapa bukan ThinkPad T470 tanpa s? Alasan utama saya membeli ThinkPad T470s adalah karena ThinkPad T480s saya rusak. Masih. Hingga sekarang. Ada part yang belum ada IC Power. cocok juga buat diajak ke lapangan Selama masa penantian, saya kembali menggunakan ThinkPad X270 untuk kerja sehari-hari. Tidak ada masalah dengan performa, dan saya kian terbiasa dengan keyboard Jerman-nya. Bagusnya lagi saya sudah mengganti baterai luar dengan tipe 6 sel. Jadi X270 bisa menemani saya seharian tanpa perlu bolak-balik isi daya. Cuma, masalahnya satu layar 12,5 inci memang terasa kecil jika dibandingkan dengan 14 inci. Jadilah saya hunting ThinkPad T470s, laptop yang sebelumnya tidak pernah saya pikir akan membelinya. Saya juga mempertimbangkan saudaranya, Si ThinkPad T470 tanpa S. Alasannya sederhana lebih berasa ThinkPad, dan baterainya kompatibel dengan ThinkPad X270. Sempurna. Namun ada detil-detil yang saya rasa jadi pembeda. Detil Pertama, kualitas bahan. Material yang melindungi hardware T470s selalu lebih baik daripada seri tanpa S. Biasanya ikut ada karbon-karbonnya seperti ThinkPad X1 Carbon. Dan juga magnesium sebagai pelindung bagian bawah. Karena itu bobot menjadi lebih ringan sekitar 1,3 kg namun rasanya tetap mantap. Kukuh meyakinkan. tipis. tapi tetap terasa solid meyakinkan Kedua, kualitas layar. Betul Lenovo ThinkPad T470 ada juga varian Full HD-nya. Tapi, biasanya tingkat kecerahan, kontras dan cakupan warna tetap lebih baik pada seri S. Belum lagi, T470s memiliki varian WQHD yang tidak dimiliki saudaranya tadi. Saya memang belum dapat membandingkan langsung dengan T470, namun layar T470s yang saya reviu ini terasa lebih baik daripada X270. Lebih netral dan lebih terang. Dengan masih mempertahankan tipe matte anti–glare yang teduh untuk mata. kerja di luar ruangan? Selama kuat panas-panasan, T470s siap menemani! Ketiga, detil-detil. Detil pertama ada pada indikator baterai. Bila sedang mengisi daya baterai pada Lenovo ThinkPad T470s, saya dapat melihat seberapa penuh baterai sudah terisi via lampu led oranye-hijau di sebelah slot charger itu. Walau tidak spesifik hanya berubah warna dari oranye ke hijau saat terisi 80%, tapi sudah sangat cukup informatif. Ada indikator led juga pada tombol CapsLock. Oh tentu, indikator mute speaker dan mute mikrofon tetap ada seperti pada ThinkPad-ThinkPad lainnya. ada indikator baterai di sebelah lubang daya, berguna banget saat mengisi daya laptop Detil berikutnya ada pada letak fingerprint. Pada Lenovo ThinkPad T470 berada di pinggir keyboard, sedangkan pada T470s berada tepat disebelah touchpad, sehingga lebih memudahkan. Oh, harap dicatat, tidak semua ThinkPad memiliki fitur tambahan keamanan biometric ini. Sekadar tambahan yang menenangkan. fingerprint yang dekat dan cepat Bahkan bila dibandingkan dengan Lenovo ThinkPad T480s Yang saya rasakan, Keyboard Lenovo ThinkPad T470s lebih enak. Lebih empuk dan lebih dalam jarak ketiknya key travel. Dan bila ingin mengganti keyboard, tidak ada klip yang mengganggu. Tidak perlu mencongkel tombol trackpoint. Cukup kendurkan baut bagian bawah yang ada ikon keyboard-nya, kemudian balik laptop, geser pelindung, lalu buka baut-bautnya. serupa tapi beda rasa! Touchpad, trackpad, atau papan sentuh rasanya juga lebih smooth. Lebih lembut dan seperti ThinkPad-ThinkPad yang saya kenal, presisi. Walaupun secara kondisi fisik trackpad itu sudah tidak mulus, tetap saja lebih meyakinkan daripada ThinkPad T480s. Saya cek, ternyata memang bawaan Synaptics, bukan Elan seperti pada ThinkPad T480s. ada LED Indikator di Capslock, Esc Fn lock, mute speaker, mute mic, dan tombol power Saya juga lebih suka dengan tata letak port dan exhaust pada ThinkPad T470s lubang keluar panas ada di sebelah kanan laptop tangan kiri, dan port docking tetap ada di bawah. Klasik, just like old times. lubang keluar panas masih disebelah kiri tangan. Lebih enak begini, biar tangan yang biasa pegang mouse nggak sembur panas, setuju? Laptop tipis tanpa perlu mengorbankan apapun Satu lagi kelebihan Lenovo ThinkPad T470s daripada Ultrabook kekinian port koneksi. Ada 3 slot USB Gen 1, dengan 1 slot yang dapat diatur untuk Always On dapat melakukan isi daya ponsel saat laptop shutdown. Ada 1 slot USB Type-C Gen 2 Thunderbolt 3, yang tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai colokan kabel transfer data super cepat dan colokan ke monitor, tapi juga sebagai power delivery bisa isi daya menggunakan kabel tipe-c. apa yang kurang? Jadi, total ada 4 slot USB. EMPAT, Kang! Tidak berhenti sampai di sana, slot SD Card juga tersedia. Full, bukan MicroSD, dengan kecepatan yang mungkin dapat melebihi 90 MB/s saya belum punya SD Card yang ngebut banget, kang, hehe. Disebelahnya ada port audio klasik mm. Port HDMI juga masih ada. Dan yang mungkin mencengangkan RJ-45, alias colokan untuk terhubung internet via kabel LAN juga masih dipertahankan! Oh tentu, tidak lengkap rasanya kalau belum menyebut slot yang jarang dimiliki laptop “murah” slot kartu SIM. Asal sudah terpasang modem WWAN Sierra Wireless EM7455 dan terinstall driver, kartu sim 4G LTE yang biasa kita gunakan pada ponsel pintar akan dapat kita gunakan juga pada laptop ini. Internetan tanpa tergantung Wi-Fi lagi, canggih nggak tuh Kang! Terakhir, docking port. Posisinya tetap di bawah, modelnya tidak berubah dari ThinkPad seri 20 dahulu kala koreksi bila saya salah. Kita dapat menjadikan laptop tipis ini seperti ThinkPad klasik dengan tambahan docking “cklek” dari bawah tadi. Oh, tentu saja, docking modern via USB-C juga tetap dapat kita lakukan. Fleksibel. docking station klasik masih ada, asik! Saya suka laptop dengan banyak pilihan! Dengan ketebalan yang kurang dari 2 cm, masih adakah ruang untuk upgrade pada Lenovo ThinkPad T470s? Kabar baiknya, ada. Setidaknya kita masih bisa menambahkan RAM hingga 20 atau 24 GB. Tergantung berapa kapasitas RAM yang sudah tersolder. Unit yang saya revieu ini memiliki RAM DDR4 2133MHz Onboard sebesar 4GB, namun total RAM yang terbaca adalah 8 GB. cukup kendurkan 5 baut, lalu buka tanpa ada klip yang menyebalkan Artinya? Ada 1 slot RAM yang masih dapat kita maksimalkan. RAM tadi dapat bekerja secara dual channel. Jadi, bila saya menambah 1 RAM dengan kapasitas 16 GB, total kapasitas menjadi 20 GB. Ingat, ada varian dengan RAM onboard sebesar 8 GB, sehingga total RAM yang dapat digunakan menjadi 24 GB nantinya. Untuk ruang penyimpanan data, sayangnya tidak ada lagi slot SSD/ HDD Sata 2,5 inci. Hanya ada slot 2280 sebagai tempat storage utama. Sebenernya ada slot 2242 yang dapat diisi lagi. Hanya, keterangan resmi dari manual yang saya baca, slot tadi hanya dapat kita isi dengan Wireless WAN card. Please, jangan dulu minta saya untuk mencoba SSD Sata 2242 terbaca atau tidak, saya masih trauma Kang! Mudah dibuka, mudah upgrade-nya. Mudah service-nya… asal ada partnya 🙂 Baterai juga tidak dapat kita tingkatkan kapasitasnya. Walaupun ada 2 baterai, tapi karena semua ada di dalam cover, jadi baterai tipe 68/ 68+ yang dipakai sejak seri 40 itu, tidak dapat kita gunakan lagi. Huhu. Untuk CPU, akang sudah tau jawabannya tertanam rapi bersama motherboard. GPU pun sama. Pilihan upgrade GPU hanya via port Thunderbolt 3. Yang tolong saya dikabari kalau ada akang sekalian yang sudah mencobanya. Meski begitu, jangan berkecil hati. Karena membuka penutup bawah yang berbahan magnesium itu sangat mudah. Hanya ada 5 baut yang perlu dikendurkan, dan tidak ada klip yang membuat deg–degan. Sehingga kalau ingin melakukan upgrade atau sekadar perawatan, mudah. Oh, rasanya perlu menyampaikan ini juga colokan charger tidak ikut tersolder bersama motherboard. Tidak seperti T480s. Dia masih menggunakan versi klasik yang mudah kita ganti apabila terjadi kerusakan. Nice banget! Performa Lenovo ThinkPad T470s Saya mendapatkan ThinkPad T470s dengan CPU Intel Skylake, Intel Core i7-6600U. Intinya hanya 2, dapat menjadi 4 untai bila diperlukan. Kecepatannya dari 2,60 GHz hingga 3,40 GHz. TDP bawaannya 15W, namun dapat naik turun sesuai kebutuhan antara 7,5-25 W. Berikut hasil benchmark-nya PC Mark 10 total 1960; Essential 4876; Productivity 2280; Digital Creation 1864 Photo Editing 2697, Rendering 1030, Video Editing 2332. Geekbench 5 Single Core 793; Multi Core 1699. Cinebench R23 Single Core 786; Multi Core 1670. Tidak ada perbedaan berarti bila dibandingkan dengan Intel Core i5-6200U yang tertanam pada X270. Tapi jelas tertinggal dari Intel Core i5-8350U yang menjadi motor utama Dell Latitude 7490 seharusnya dengan T480s, tapi kan belum balik dia T_T. Untuk saya yang lebih banyak memakai aplikasi kantoran standar, sangat cukup. Meski hasil benchmark tidak terlalu berbeda dengan i5-6200U, saya masih dapat merasakan perbedaan kecepatan. Intel Core i7 memang lebih cepat, lebih satsetsatset! Untuk editing foto juga mampu. Namun untuk rendering, perlu menyiapkan kesabaran dan cemilan yang banyak. Karena saat melakukan rendering, kecepatan turbo multi core-nya tidak tercapai, tertahan dikisaran GHz – GHz saja. Karena, Lenovo menjaga suhu CPU pada rentang di 75-79oC saja, sehingga Intel Core i7-6600U tidak pernah mengeluarkan seluruh tenaganya. Saat melakukan kerja berat, laptop mulai terasa hangat dan suara kipas mulai terdengar. Untuk pemakaian standar, Lenovo ThinkPad T470s tergolong laptop yang kalem. Tenang, seperti penulis blog dikisepterian. Ehm. Kendala, kekurangan, masalah-masalah Saat awal menggunakan laptop keluaran tahun 2018 ini ada beberapa kendala yang saya alami. Pertama kendala umum tombol mute mic tidak berfungsi. Solusinya mudah sekali, instal driver hotkeys dari situs resmi Lenovo, beres. Kendala berikutnya pada fingerprint yang selalu error. Saya temukan masalahnya ada pada setelan akun yang sejak awal saya mengira memang aneh. Atau cacat. Entah apa solusinya, yang terpikir oleh saya hanyalah install ulang windows. Setelah itu, fingerprint berjalan sebagaimana mestinya. Kemudian, saya mengalami bluescreen. Mungkin 2 kali sejak saya menulis review ini. Saya tidak tau persis awalnya, dia muncul tiba-tiba setelah shutdown. Tidak terlalu lama sih, hanya sebentar. Saya menduga masalah ada pada SSD NVMe Samsung-nya. Sehingga saya coba melakukan update driver. Sampai sekarang, belum pernah lagi terjadi. Kendala berikutnya, layar berkedip. Blinking, flashing, atau flickering saat menyolok atau mencabut kabel daya. Seperti pada ThinkPad X220/ 230/ 250 dulu. Masalahnya ada pada perbedaan refresh rate monitor. Saat menggunakan baterai, 50 Hz, saat dengan charger menjadi 60 Hz. Solusinya ya tinggal samakan saja refresh rate-nya. Sedangkan, kekurangan Lenovo ThinkPad T470s yang saya rasakan ada pada baterainya. Betul sih ada 2 23 + 26 Wh, tapi, tetap tidak dapat mengalahkan gabungan baterai 3 + 6 sel 23 + 48 Wh seperti pada ThinkPad X270 atau T470 dan pendahulunya. Atau mungkin ThinkPad X1 Carbon gen 5 yang memiliki 1 baterai jumbo berkapasitas 57 Wh. Walaupun sebenarnya, dengan penggunaan ala saya, baterai itu sanggup bertahan sekitar 4-5 jam. Saya tidak boleh lupa, ini bukan laptop baru, yang kondisi real-nya tinggal 79% dari kapasitas awalnya. Not bad sebenarnya kang. Not bad… Oh, satu lagi kekurangan, yang rasanya bukan kekurangan buat banyak orang trackpoint yang kurus. Dia masih memiliki slot HDD/ SSD 2,5 inci, masih punya baterai internal + eksternal, dan ada pilihan GPU NVIDIA 940MX untuk potensi gaming yang lebih meyakinkan. Dan kalau akang memang butuhnya Laptop 14 inci yang super portable, baterai tahan lama, dan sudah punya Thunderbolt 3 juga. Cek ThinkPad X1 Carbon gen 5. Tapi, kalau layar 14 inci terasa masih terlalu besar. Pilihan tidak lain dan tidak bukan ada pada ThinkPad X270, yang lebih kompak dengan layar 12,5 inci-nya. engsel logam, kokoh luar dalam ThinkPad T470 dan X1 Carbon gen 5 memang belum masuk ruang revieu dikisepterian. I can't say for certain that the older equipment won't be replaced with newer revisions that offer different connections, but at least you won't need to optical bay connections have changed from the previous generation, moving more towards a SATA style connector, rendering older drive incompatible. The picture makes the screen out to be just a tad dimmer than it looks in person, but it is perfectly serviceable outside. The only thing that would really prevent you from seeing the screen is reflections blinding you from just being outside on a sunny day. You should also note that max brightness chops about one hour of battery life away from the 9-cell model where it would otherwise be pushing close to 10 hours at 60% brightness.view large imageComparing this screen to the older WXGA+ screen is no contest, with the newer LED backlit model being better in many ways. Whites look cleaner, colors look better, backlight is more even, and best of all is bright enough to view in sunshine. It is well worth the extra money, and you would be foolish not to get it if you are configuring the notebook yourself. Some of this may be attributed to the differences in keyboard suppliers NMB, ALPS, and Chicony though, as my T60 came with the "clickier" Chicony keyboard, whereas the T400 is much quieter. The keyboard strength seems to have changed, with more flex present on the right side of the keyboard. To find the culprit of this flex, I took apart the notebook and inspected the keyboard area.view large imageTo my great surprise, I found Lenovo had completely redesigned the keyboard, with weight savings as the primary goal. The old design has a much stronger back-plate, which is removed on the new revision. This cuts weight by 25 percent 6oz to from the old model, but at the huge disadvantage of tarnishing the long-standing ThinkPad keyboard reputation. For now I am leaning towards weight savings, instead of cost savings as the main redesign reason, but I still don't like it. Anyone who knows the ThinkPad name knows at least two things; boring business notebook and great keyboard. If you take away the keyboard and make other weight reducing or durability reducing changes to the notebook design, you will no doubt alienate many of your followers. I really hope Lenovo takes notice at this, cause I would take a brick glued to the bottom of the case before over a keyboard change such as keyboard left versus T400 keyboard rightview large imageAs with older models, the liquid drains are still in place, ready to get your notebook out of harm's way if a stray coffee or soda spills all over touchpad has grown compared to the T61, expanding to the width of the lower touchpad buttons. With the ThinkPad touchpads always being the runts compared to other notebook designs, this change was very welcomed even if they did paint scroll arrows on it. The texture is identical to the older touchpad, and sensitivity is just as good. Compared to my T60, the touchpad buttons feel much firmer, and have more support from edge to edge. On the T60's touchpad, the far left and right side tend to sag slightly, while the T400's touchpad buttons have equal support from side to side.view large imageMy only disappointment with the touchpad was the lack of red strips. After seeing the X300 and X200 that offered "legacy" red strips on the touchpoint buttons, I was upset to see that Lenovo didn't include that finishing touch on the T-series and BenchmarksOur Lenovo ThinkPad T400 came with the Intel T9600 processor, clocking in at and jammed packed with 6MB of cache. For graphics, Lenovo included an ATI Radeon 3470 video card with 256MB of GDDR3 memory. A speedy 160 GB 7200 RPM hard drive was also included, which helped applications load without much lag. This notebook was outstanding for day to day use, and had enough power to handle most games around the office to kill some time. Half-Life 2 in native resolution 1440x900 kept above 30FPS even in heavy action scenes. Portal was another favorite that worked very well at native resolution, keeping framerates above 40FPS throughout most of the users who don't wish to have as much 3D acceleration or power consumption during day to day work, you can switch between the Intel X4500 integrated graphics and ATI 3470 dedicated graphics. This switch can be made on-the-fly without a reboot.
